providing you with access to your web server log files. These
log files store information about every "hit" to your web site.
Different amounts of information are stored based on your particular
ISP and configuration, but in general everyone with log files has
some very valuable information about the traffic on their web site.
For example, web site log files can tell you things like:
- how many hits, impressions, visits, and visitors you get
- what search engines people use to find your site
- what other web sites are driving traffic to your site
- when users visit (by hour, day, week, etc.)
- what pages are being accessed least often and most often
- how many people are returning versus visiting just once
- ...and lots more!
The challenge is getting that data from your log
